Atelier Kempe Thill received the commission for the new Kavel F housing tower project in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, which is situated on the inner-city plot of the famous Bijlmerbajes prison. It is part of the Bajeskwartier master plan designed by OMA, FABRICations, and LOLA landscape architects. The new, very compact building will offer space for 140 social apartments in various sizes. The building is designed around a big central atrium that will function as a social connector and interior garden. All apartments will have large balconies and be built according to the highest environmental standards. Two green roof terraces are to be realized as well, offering the future inhabitants a splendid view of the city center of Amsterdam.
