Atelier Kempe Thill won the European call for a new innovative office building in the largest series of competitions for city planning, architecture, and public space in France: Inventons la Métropole du Grand Paris. Located in the ZAC Paul Bourget, a development area partially occupied by social housing from the 1950s, the whole area will be set up completely anew with housing and office projects. The new office building on the Boulevard Périphérique at Porte d’Italie will provide the Paris headquarters for Groupe Pichet, one of the biggest French real estate developing company. It also has flexible office spaces for rent. Organized around a double high lobby, the building has a double-glazed façade for acoustic protection against the traffic noise of the nearby Boulevard Périphérique. The horizontal bands of the façade are made of 70.000 recycled bricks, sourced from demolished buildings. The project is expected to be completed in the Spring 2025.
