Atelier Kempe Thill

The Tinelsite is a new urban development area on the north side of the medieval city center of Mechelen, Belgium. The project proposed by Atelier Kempe Thill in the invited competition intended to transform several existing buildings into apartments and to combine them with a series of new blocks mainly used for housing. Old and new buildings together would form a new spatial ensemble that encloses a series of different public and green spaces.
