Atelier Kempe Thill and Van Doorslaer created and implemented the master plan for a new housing estate for the elderly, The Village, in Heist-op-den-Berg, Belgium. The existing health campus Ten Kerselaere was extended to include four urban villas in an open park landscape. The apartments for different groups of residents are open and flexible, each with its own winter garden. The units are organized around a central atrium, which also houses all collective facilities.
