The existing Havenhuis or “harbor house” was built in the early twentieth century and is one of the most dominant buildings in the harbor landscape of Antwerp, Belgium. Atelier Kempe Thill participated in an invited competition to extend the building to include additional office space, a restaurant, and an exposition hall. In this design, visitors enjoy splendid views over the harbor and the city from a platform on the roof. The building is to function in the future as the head office of Antwerp Harbor.
