The Forum Mall project proposal by Atelier Kempe Thill provided an answer to the dilemma of how to integrate a shopping center of 150,000 square meters into the inner city of Dresden, Germany. The façade design gives all shops inside the mall the possibility to present themselves to the public on the street. The entrance forms a grand gesture toward the city and public. The proposal emphasizes the structure as an important public building, designed as a “cathedral of shopping.”
