The ambition of the IJburg housing project built by Atelier Kempe Thill in Amsterdam, Netherlands, is to maximize the relations between the apartments and the surrounding bodies of water. Therefore, the living rooms run parallel with the façade and are 9 meters wide. Each living room has three windows with dimensions of 2.4 by 1.6 meters and offers a panoramic view of the water. The windows are made of aluminum, while the façade material is brick.
