900km Nile City is a new type of city: an agricultural metropolis. The objective of this ongoing research project is, on the one hand, to describe the conditions of the settlements in the Egyptian Nile Valley and, on the other, to define possible urban and architectural strategies in collaboration with local stakeholders. The aim is to develop a strategic framework for this urban corridor with about 26 million inhabitants and an average density of 2,200 inhabitants per square kilometer. The project is being developed in closed collaboration with, among others, baukuh (Milan) and the Berlage Center (Delft).
