0053 HipHouse, Zwolle, NL
The student housing complex HipHouse is the first building by Atelier Kempe Thill realised within the Master plan for the New Trapjeswijk. The urban villa, with its twenty three by thirty two by twenty five metres, is a very compact building, including storage spaces in a half basement.
All the facades of the mini-tower are entirely of sun-protection glazing fixed on an aluminium sliding door system. The apartments enjoy views over the surroundings and high levels of daylight.
The central atrium has a double function; on one hand it serves as a circulation space through which the apartments are being accessed, on the other hand it brings daylight deep in the core of the building.
